Table of contents

Product Description

The AKO-16526A / 16526AN is an advanced controller designed for cold room stores. It features a SELFDRIVE operating mode that autonomously controls fans and adaptively minimizes defrost cycles to optimize performance, maximize time at the set point, and reduce energy consumption and component wear. The controller includes an output for regulating electronic expansion valves and can be configured to control superheating. The AKO-16526AN model incorporates an NBIoT communication module for autonomous data transmission to akonet.cloud.

Installation and Safety

The device must be installed in a location protected from vibrations, water, and corrosive gases, ensuring the ambient temperature remains within the specified technical limits. For accurate readings, the sensor should be placed away from external thermal influences. The IP65 protection rating is only valid when the protective cover is closed and cables are installed using appropriate IP65-rated glands and conduits. A minimum distance of 20 cm from the human body must be maintained to comply with electromagnetic field exposure standards. For the AKO-16526AN, the internal antenna must always be installed during operation.

Wiring

Always disconnect the power supply before performing any wiring. Probes and their cables must never be installed in conduits alongside power, control, or supply cables. The power circuit must include a switch (minimum 2 A, 230 V) located near the device. Relay output cables must have a minimum section of 2.5 mm² and be rated for temperatures of 70 °C or higher. The wiring configuration depends on the options selected during the initial setup wizard.

Operation and Maintenance

The controller features a display and keypad for monitoring and configuration. The display provides real-time status indicators for the compressor, fans, defrost, and alarms. Maintenance should be performed by cleaning the surface with a soft cloth, water, and soap; avoid abrasive detergents, petrol, alcohol, or solvents. If the device is used in a way not specified by the manufacturer, its safety requirements may be compromised.

Troubleshooting and Alarms

The controller displays various error codes to assist in troubleshooting. Common alerts include sensor faults (E1-E6), open door alarms (Ad0), temperature alarms (AH/AL), and HACCP alarms (HCP/HPF). SELFDRIVE mode also provides specific alert messages (E10-E18) accessible by pressing the down key, indicating issues such as calibration errors or system instability.
