This document provides essential tips and tricks for the operation and maintenance of your Bosch gas cooktop or rangetop. It covers recommended cookware, flame control techniques, and proper cleaning procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your appliance.

Cookware recommendations
The type of cookware you use significantly impacts cooking results:
- Flat, heavy-bottomed pans: Provide the best heat distribution and stability.
- Aluminum or copper-bottomed pans: Heat evenly.
- Cast-iron pans: Absorb heat slowly and are best used at low to medium settings.
- Avoid: Thin, warped, dented, or ridged pans, as they may heat unevenly.
Cooking tips and flame control
Proper flame management is key to efficient cooking:

- Flame appearance: Flames should be steady, sharp, and blue. If they appear yellow-orange, clean the burner.
- Flame size: Use high flame for boiling water, medium flame for maintaining a slow boil or thickening sauces, and low flame for poaching or stewing.
- FlameSelect: Select models feature 9 predefined power levels for precise heating.
- OptiSim burner: Designed for simmering delicate sauces or melting chocolate. The OptiSim burner cap must be placed on the small front left burner (select models only).
Cleaning and care
Always wait for the cooktop to cool completely before cleaning.

- General cleaning: Remove grates and burner caps. Wash them in warm, soapy water. Clean the cooktop surface with a soft cloth and soapy water.
- Burner maintenance: If gas flow is obstructed, use a wire or straightened paper clip to clear debris from burner slots.
- Rubber feet: Be careful when cleaning around the rubber feet on the grates; if they fall off, the grates may scratch the surface.
- Degreaser: For stubborn grease, use Bosch Degreaser (00312207). Apply, wait 3 to 5 minutes, rub with a soft cloth, and wipe clean.
- Stainless steel: Wipe with a soft cloth and mild, soapy water in the direction of the grain. Use Bosch Stainless Steel Conditioner (Spray Bottle #00576696 or Wipes #17002199) for extra shine. Do not use conditioner on non-steel surfaces, logos, or control markings.
