This document provides essential tips for the operation and maintenance of Bosch gas cooktops and rangetops. It covers proper cookware selection, flame management, and cleaning procedures to ensure optimal performance and longevity of your appliance.
Cookware Selection
The type of cookware used significantly impacts cooking results. Follow these guidelines:
- Recommended: Use flat, heavy-bottomed pans for the best heat distribution and stability.
- Aluminum or Copper-bottomed: These heat evenly.
- Cast-iron: Absorbs heat slowly; best used at low to medium settings.
- Avoid: Do not use pans that are thin, warped, dented, or ridged, as they may heat unevenly.
Cooking Tips
Proper flame management is crucial for efficient cooking:

- Flame Appearance: Flames should be steady, sharp, and blue. If flames appear yellow-orange, the burner requires cleaning.
- Flame Size:
- High: Use for bringing water to a boil.
- Medium: Use for maintaining a slow boil, thickening sauces/gravies, or steaming.
- Low: Use for poaching or stewing.
- FlameSelect: This feature offers 9 predefined power levels for precise heating (available on select models).
- OptiSim: Designed for simmering delicate sauces or melting chocolate. The OptiSim burner cap must be placed on the small front left burner (select models only).
Cleaning and Care
Always wait until the cooktop or rangetop has fully cooled before cleaning.

- General Cleaning: Remove grates and burner caps. Clean with warm, soapy water and a soft cloth.
- Burner Maintenance: If needed, remove food debris from burner slots using a wire or a straightened paper clip.
- Grates: Carefully clean around the rubber feet. If rubber feet fall off, the grates may scratch the surface.
- Grease and Grime: For stubborn stains, apply Bosch Degreaser (00312207) and wait 3 to 5 minutes. Rub with a soft cloth (e.g., Bosch Microfiber Cleaning Cloth 00312289) and wipe away excess with water.
Stainless Steel Maintenance
To clean stainless steel elements:

- Wipe down using a soft cloth and mild, soapy water, then wipe dry. Always wipe in the direction of the grain.
- Conditioning: After washing, apply Bosch Stainless Steel Conditioner (Spray Bottle 00576696 or Wipes 17002199) for extra shine. Apply in the direction of the grain and wipe away excess.
- Warning: Do not use conditioner on non-steel surfaces, logos, control markings, labels, black, smudge-proof or easy-clean steel, or appliance interiors.
