Table of contents

Product Description

This manual provides critical safety and operational guidelines for Bosch Lithium-Ion batteries. These batteries are designed for use exclusively with compatible Bosch power tools. They are supplied partially charged and must be fully charged before their first use to ensure optimal performance.

Safety Instructions

Failure to follow these instructions can result in electric shock, fire, or serious injury. Key safety rules include:

  • Do not open the battery pack to avoid short-circuiting.
  • Protect the battery from heat, continuous sunlight, fire, dirt, water, and moisture, as these pose explosion and short-circuit risks.
  • Keep batteries away from metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws, which can bridge the terminals and cause burns or fire.
  • If the battery is damaged or used incorrectly, vapors may be emitted; ensure proper ventilation and seek medical advice if you feel unwell.
  • Avoid contact with leaking battery fluid; if contact occurs, rinse with water and seek medical attention if the fluid touches your eyes.

Operation and Storage

Operate and store the battery only within an ambient temperature range of -20°C to +50°C. Do not leave the battery in a car during summer. Charging should only occur at ambient temperatures between 0°C and +45°C. If the battery has a USB port, charge it via that port only between +10°C and +35°C. Charging outside these ranges may damage the battery and increase fire risk.

Maintenance and Transport

Occasionally clean the battery's ventilation slots and terminals with a soft, clean, and dry brush. Lithium-ion batteries are subject to Dangerous Goods Legislation. Users can transport them by road without further requirements. When shipping via third parties (e.g., air transport or forwarding), specific packaging and labeling requirements must be met, and a hazardous material expert should be consulted.

Disposal

Do not dispose of batteries in household waste. They must be collected separately and recycled in an environmentally friendly manner in accordance with local regulations and the EU Directive 2006/66/EC.
