Quick guide from the manual

The Bosch UniversalVac 18 is a cordless dry vacuum cleaner intended for household use. It is designed for vacuuming dry materials that are not harmful to health. Important: Do not vacuum harmful substances (e.g., beech or oak wood dust, rock dust, asbestos) or liquids. The vacuum must only be used and stored indoors.

Battery and Charging

The vacuum is powered by a lithium-ion battery. The battery is supplied partially charged. Charge it fully in a compatible Bosch charger before first use. The battery features Electronic Cell Protection (ECP) to prevent deep discharge. To charge, remove the battery from the vacuum. The battery charge indicator (3) shows the status when the on/off button (2) is pressed.

Assembly

Accessories can be connected directly to the dust container (6). Ensure the filter unit is securely fitted before use. To insert the battery, slide it into the vacuum until it clicks into place. To remove, press the battery release button (12) and pull it out.

Operation

Press the on/off button (2) to switch the vacuum on or off. Always ensure the filter unit is securely installed and undamaged before starting.

Maintenance and Cleaning

Clean the dust container (6) after each use to maintain optimal performance. Hold the vacuum slightly downwards when opening to prevent dust from falling out. Shake the container over a waste bin. If necessary, clean the filters (14/16). The fine dust filter (16) must not be cleaned with water. Brush the coarse dirt filter (14) and tap the fine dust filter (16) gently to remove dust.

Troubleshooting

If suction power is insufficient, check if the dust container (6) is full, if the filters (14/16) are clogged, or if the battery charge is too low.
