Product Overview
The Cisco Business 140AC Access Point is designed to create a new wireless network or expand the coverage of an existing one. The device features a status LED, an RJ-45 console port for technical support, a PoE-In port for network connectivity and power, a mode button, and a security screw hole.

Getting Started
To begin, ensure you have an active Internet connection, a computer with Wi-Fi capability, a PoE switch, router, or injector (802.3af), and a router acting as a DHCP server. Connect the access point to a PoE LAN port on your router or switch using the provided Ethernet cable.

Initial Setup and Configuration
Upon connection, the device will begin its initial boot sequence, which may take up to 6 minutes. The LED will cycle through green, amber, and red colors. The device is ready for configuration only when the LED is consistently blinking or solid green.
- Wireless Setup: Search for the SSID "CiscoBusiness-Setup" and connect using the passphrase "cisco123".
- Web UI Configuration: Launch a web browser and navigate to http://ciscobusiness.cisco. Click "Start" to launch the Setup Wizard and follow the on-screen instructions to create a username and password.
- Advanced Settings: During setup, you may choose to configure a static IP address for the management interface or enable the "Mesh" option if you intend to add mesh extenders.
Mounting and Maintenance
The access point supports multiple mounting configurations, including installation on suspended ceilings, hard ceilings, walls, or in plenum air spaces. For detailed mounting instructions, refer to the official Administration Guide.
Troubleshooting and Support
If adding the device to an existing network, allow the access point to boot and automatically update its firmware and configuration. This process may take ten minutes or more, during which the LED will cycle through colors. Once the LED is blinking or solid green, the device has successfully joined the network.
