The Elite Gourmet 2-Slice Stainless Steel Toaster (ECT2428) is designed for household use. Before first use, clean the exterior and crumb tray. During operation, never leave the toaster unattended, especially when toasting smaller or less dense bread, as it may toast faster and eject forcefully. Always unplug the appliance when not in use and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

The toaster features the following components:

• A. Dual Extra-Wide Toast Slots: Accommodates a variety of breads.
• B. Stainless Steel Housing: Easy to clean exterior.
• C. Slide-Out Crumb Tray: Removable tray located at the bottom.
• D. Pop-Up Lever: Initiates the toasting process.
• E. Cancel/Eject Button: Stops the toasting process at any time.
• F. Bagel Function: Toasts the cut face of the bagel only.
• G. Browning Control: Six browning levels plus reheat.
• H. Defrost Button: Defrosts and toasts frozen bread.

Before First Use

Carefully unpack the product and remove all packaging. Wipe the exterior with a clean, damp cloth and clean the crumb tray. Dry all parts thoroughly before operating. Note that during the first few minutes of initial use, you may notice some smoke or a slight odor; this is normal and will disappear.

How to Use

Toasting: Insert items into the slots, set the browning control, and push down the pop-up lever. The items will pop up automatically when finished.

Defrost Setting: Insert frozen items, set the browning control (1-2 for thin items, 5-6 for thick items), push down the lever, and press the Defrost button.

Bagel Setting: Place the bagel with the cut side facing the center of the toaster. Set the browning control, push down the lever, and press the Bagel button.

Reheat Setting: Insert items, set the browning control to the toast icon (Reheat), and push down the lever.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Always ensure the toaster is unplugged and completely cool before cleaning. Wipe the exterior with a clean, damp, soapy cloth. Do not use abrasive cleansers. To clean the crumb tray, slide it out from the bottom, empty it, and slide it back until it clicks. If toast becomes lodged, unplug the toaster, allow it to cool, turn it upside down, and shake it loose. Never use metal utensils to remove stuck food.

Tips

• Toasting times depend on the moisture level of the item.
• Extra thick bread may require two cycles.
• When toasting items with fruit (e.g., cinnamon raisin bagels), remove loose pieces of fruit to prevent them from getting stuck.

Safety Precautions

Do not place buttered breads, pastries with fillings or frostings, or small/torn bread slices in the toaster, as this creates a fire hazard. Never immerse the toaster or power cord in water. Do not operate under wall cabinets or near flammable materials.
