Quick guide from the manual

The Elmag AKM 1.2mm is a motorised beading machine designed for embossing depressions (beads) into flat or cylindrical metal sheets. This process increases the rigidity of the material and enables form-fitting longitudinal assembly of pipes. The machine is operated via a mobile control column equipped with a double foot pedal for controlling right and left rotation.

Operating principle

To operate the machine, follow these steps:

  • Ensure the metal sheet is positioned correctly against the adjustable depth stop.
  • Push the flat or cylinder plate through the machine as far as it will go.
  • Press the idle roller lightly against the sheet.
  • Set the drive roller in motion using the foot pedal.
  • Allow the plate to run through the machine several times, gradually feeding in the idle roller until the desired deformation (beading, flanging, or drawing depth) is achieved.

Common problems

Insufficient deformation depth

Ensure the idle roller is gradually fed in while the plate runs through the machine multiple times.

Inaccurate sheet guidance

Adjust the ground depth stop to ensure the sheet is aligned correctly before starting the operation.

Before use

  • Verify the machine is connected to a 400V power source.
  • Ensure the emergency stop on the mobile control column is accessible and functional.
  • Check that the sheet thickness does not exceed the 1.25 mm limit.
  • Select the appropriate roller set for the required profile.
  • Ensure the workspace is clear and the machine is stable.

Specs in practice

Max. plate thickness (1.25 mm)
The maximum thickness of metal sheet the machine can process without damage.
