Cleaning and Descaling
Always unplug the kettle and let it cool down before cleaning.
- Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasives.
- Interior: Wipe with sodium bicarbonate on a damp cloth and rinse thoroughly.
- Filter: Rinse under the tap or use a soft brush.
- Descaling: If limescale builds up, use a suitable descaler. Regular descaling extends the life of the kettle and prevents the element from burning out.
Troubleshooting
- Kettle switches off before boiling: Usually caused by scale buildup. Descale the kettle.
- Kettle fails to work: Check if the power supply is switched on or if the boil-dry protection has activated.
- Water has a funny taste: This may occur after the first use. If it persists, boil water with 2 teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate and discard.
- Kettle forms scale inside: This is normal in hard water areas. Regular descaling is essential.
