This kettle is designed for boiling water only. Before first use, it is essential to remove all packaging, fill the kettle to the MAX level, boil, and discard the water twice to ensure cleanliness. Always operate the kettle on a stable, flat surface and keep the lid closed during the boiling process.

The kettle consists of the following main components:

• Lock lid: Securely closes the kettle.
• Spout: For pouring water.
• Handle: Used to hold the kettle.
• On/off switch: Activates the boiling process.
• Power base: Provides power to the kettle.

Using your kettle

Follow these steps for daily operation:

1. Fill the kettle with fresh, cold water through the spout or lid. Do not exceed the MAX level indicated inside.
2. Ensure the lid is firmly closed and the switch is clear of obstructions.
3. Place the kettle on the power base and press the on/off switch to the 'I' position. The indicator light will turn on.
4. The kettle will switch off automatically once the water reaches boiling point.
5. Pour slowly to avoid splashing. Empty the kettle after each use.

Boil dry protection

The kettle is equipped with a safety shut-off device. If the kettle is accidentally switched on without water or with insufficient water, this device will activate. If this happens, allow the kettle to cool down for a few minutes before refilling to reset the device.

Care and cleaning

Always disconnect the kettle from the power supply before cleaning. Ensure the kettle is cold.

• Exterior: Wipe with a damp cloth and dry. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring powder.
• Interior: Wipe with sodium bicarbonate on a damp cloth and rinse thoroughly.
• Descaling: Regular descaling (ideally once a week) is necessary, especially in hard water areas. Use a suitable kettle descaler. Limescale buildup can cause the kettle to take longer to boil and may damage the heating element.

Problem solving

• Kettle switches off before boiling: Usually caused by scale buildup. Descale the kettle. Alternatively, the boil dry protection may have activated.
• Kettle does not work: Check the power supply at the wall socket or check if the boil dry protection has activated.
• Water has a funny taste: Discard the water from the first boil. If the problem persists, fill to MAX and add 2 teaspoons of sodium bicarbonate, boil, and discard.
• Water turns cloudy: This is normal in hard water areas due to calcium and magnesium carbonates. Regular descaling is recommended.

Safety

This appliance is for indoor household use only. Do not use near water sources like bathtubs or showers. Do not leave the appliance unattended during use. Never immerse the unit, plug, or power cord in water. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or a qualified service agent.
