Parts of the Lens

The lens features several controls, including:

• Focus ring: For manual focus adjustments.
• Zoom ring: To adjust the focal length.
• Aperture ring: To control the aperture (f-stop).
• O.I.S. switch: To enable or disable Optical Image Stabilization.
• Focus range selector: Choose between FULL (all distances) or 5m-infinity for faster autofocus.

Operation

Zooming

Rotate the zoom ring to adjust the focal length. Rotating left zooms out (wider angle), and rotating right zooms in (telephoto).

Aperture Control

For automatic aperture control, set the aperture mode switch to A. For manual control, set the switch to the aperture icon and rotate the aperture ring. Rotating left increases the aperture (lower f-number), while rotating right decreases it (higher f-number).

Focus Range Selector

Use the selector to limit the autofocus range. FULL is for general use, while 5m-∞ is recommended for faster focusing when shooting subjects at distances of 5 meters or more.

Optical Image Stabilization (OIS)

Slide the O.I.S. switch to ON to activate image stabilization, which helps reduce blur caused by camera shake.

Maintenance and Care

• Cleaning: Use a blower to remove dust. For smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaner on a soft, clean cloth or lens tissue, wiping in a circular motion from the center outwards.
• Storage: Keep the lens in a cool, dry place. Always attach the front and rear caps when not in use.
• Precautions: Do not use organic solvents like paint thinner or benzene. Keep the lens dry and avoid extreme heat.
