Quick guide from the manual

This document provides essential instructions for the Gardena EasyTrim 25/18V P4A battery trimmer. It covers safe operation, assembly, maintenance, and troubleshooting. Always refer to the full manual for complete safety information.

Assembly

  1. Slide the trimmer tube onto the trimmer head until it engages. Ensure the cable is not pinched.
  2. Slide the main handle tube onto the trimmer tube until it engages.
  3. Insert the left side of the wheel into the trimmer head and slide the right side until it engages.
  4. Slide the protective cover onto the trimmer head until it audibly clicks.
  5. Push the plant guard onto the trimmer head until it engages.
  6. Squeeze the handle brackets and slide the additional handle onto them until it engages.

Operation

Charging the battery: Press the release button to remove the battery. Connect the charger to a mains socket and slide it onto the battery. A flashing green light indicates charging; a solid green light means the battery is fully charged.

Working positions: Hold the product by the additional and main handles so the trimmer head is tilted slightly forward. To cut lawn edges, press the button and turn the main handle 180°.

Starting/Stopping: Hold the additional handle with one hand and the main handle with the other. Slide the switch-on lock forward and pull the start lever towards the handle to start. Release the start lever to stop.

Maintenance

Cleaning: Do not use water or high-pressure jets. Clean ventilation slots with a soft brush. Remove grass and dirt from the protective cover after each use.

Replacing the filament cassette: Press the cassette cover catches simultaneously and remove the cover. Remove the old cassette, clean the bracket, feed the new filament through the metal sleeve, insert the new cassette, and snap the cover back on.

Troubleshooting

  • Trimmer does not start: Battery not fully inserted or empty.
  • Trimmer cuts poorly: Filament worn or used up. Extend or replace the filament cassette.
  • Trimmer vibrates severely: Heavy contamination in the cassette bracket. Clean the bracket.
