This document provides installation and configuration instructions for the Ground Zero GZRC 165.2SQX-IV component loudspeaker system. Always follow safety precautions when installing audio equipment in a vehicle to prevent damage to the car or the audio components.
Installation notes
Proper installation is critical for safety and performance. Follow these guidelines:
- Never drill holes into the vehicle's gas tank, brake lines, or other critical components.
- Avoid routing cables over sharp edges that could damage the insulation.
- Keep speaker and signal cables away from antenna electronics and antenna cables to prevent radio interference.
- Route signal and speaker cables separately from power-carrying cables to avoid electrical noise.
Wiring
The system includes a crossover network. The low-pass filter for the midwoofer is integrated into the connection wire and must be used for optimal performance. Ensure all connections are secure and follow the wiring diagram provided in the manual.

Tweeter level adjustment
You can adjust the tweeter output level using the jumper on the crossover:

- 0 dB: Recommended setting.
- -2 dB: Reduced level.
- +2 dB: Increased level.
Technical specifications
- Impedance: 3 Ohm
- Frequency response: 45 Hz – 25 kHz
- Power handling (RMS): 120 Watts
- Power handling (max): 190 Watts
- Efficiency: 90 dB
- Cut-off frequency: 4600 Hz (12/12 dB/oct.)

Common problems
Ensure speaker wiring is kept away from power cables and antenna electronics to avoid electrical noise.
Adjust the jumper position on the crossover unit to 0 dB, -2 dB, or +2 dB.
Before use
- Verify the mounting location is free of gas tanks, brake lines, or other critical vehicle parts.
- Ensure wires are not routed over sharp edges.
- Confirm the low-pass filter is connected to the midwoofer as shown in the wiring diagram.
- Check that the amplifier is compatible with 3 Ohm impedance.
Specs in practice
- Impedance (3 Ohm)
- The electrical resistance of the speaker; ensure your amplifier is stable at this load.
- Power Handling (120W RMS)
- The continuous power the speaker can handle without damage.
- Frequency Response (45 Hz – 25 kHz)
- The range of sound frequencies the speaker can reproduce.
Images and diagrams
- Wiring Diagram: Shows the connection between the amplifier, the crossover, the midwoofer, and the tweeter.
- Tweeter Level Adjustment: Shows the jumper pins on the crossover to adjust the tweeter output level.
Model compatibility
- Requires an amplifier capable of handling 3 Ohm impedance.
