Product Overview

The HiKOKI DS 14DBL2, DS 18DBL2, DV 14DBL2, and DV 18DBL2 are high-performance cordless driver/drills and combi drills designed for professional use. These tools feature advanced brushless motor technology, reactive force control (RFC) for operator safety, and LED lighting for improved visibility in dark work areas.

Safety Warnings

General Power Tool Safety: Always keep the work area clean and well-lit. Do not operate in explosive atmospheres. Keep children and bystanders away. Ensure the tool switch is in the OFF position before connecting to a power source or battery pack. Wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection.

Battery Tool Use and Care: Recharge only with the charger specified by the manufacturer. Use power tools only with specifically designated battery packs. When not in use, keep the battery pack away from metal objects like paper clips, coins, keys, nails, or screws to prevent short-circuiting.

Operation

Charging: Before use, charge the battery using the specified charger (e.g., UC18YFSL or UC18YSL3). The pilot lamp indicates the charging status (e.g., blinking red for before charging, solid red for charging, blinking red for charging complete, or flickering for charging impossible). Always allow the charger to rest for 15 minutes between charges.

Reactive Force Control (RFC): This feature minimizes the risk of arm twisting if the tool bit suddenly jerks during operation. If triggered, the motor stops automatically. The LED light will blink to indicate this status.

Maintenance and Inspection

• Inspecting the tool: Regularly check for dull bits and replace them to maintain efficiency.
• Inspecting mounting screws: Ensure all screws are properly tightened.
• Maintenance of the motor: Keep the motor winding clean and free from oil or water.
• Cleaning: Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use solvents that melt plastic.
• Storage: Store in a place with a temperature below 40°C and out of reach of children.

Troubleshooting

If the tool does not operate normally, check the following:

• Tool doesn't run: Check battery charge and ensure it is securely attached.
• Tool suddenly stopped: Likely due to overload or RFC activation. Release the switch and remove the cause of the overload.
• Battery issues: If the charge indicator lamp blinks rapidly in purple or red, check for foreign matter or overheating.
