Overview

The iTechWorld X Range represents the pinnacle of deep cycle lithium battery design. These batteries are equipped with a pre-installed Battery Management System (BMS) that enables compatibility with a wide range of charging systems, making them well-suited for use in boats, caravans, motor-homes, RVs, and more. With an IP67 rating, they are also waterproof and dustproof, making them suitable for under-the-bonnet use.

Key Features

  • Australian design and development
  • Bluetooth monitoring
  • LiFePO4 battery technology
  • Compact and lightweight design
  • IP67 rated waterproof and dustproof
  • Heavy duty ABS casing
  • High discharge rate
  • Over discharge protection (safe mode)
  • Long cycle life with A grade prismatic cells

Installation

The X Range battery can be installed in any orientation, except for upside down (with terminals facing down). For those looking to mount your X Range battery under the bonnet of a vehicle, we recommend using a heat shield to protect the battery from extreme temperatures. The batteries support both parallel and series connections to expand capacity or voltage as needed.

Operation

Your iTechWorld X Range lithium battery features Bluetooth capabilities. To access the Bluetooth user guide and download the iTechworld Connect battery management app, please search for iTechworld Connect in your respective app store. Please note that a lithium battery's discharge curve differs from lead-acid batteries; refer to the provided discharge curve graph to understand performance.

Charging

Embedded within every iTechworld battery lies a sophisticated Battery Management System (BMS) which sets our batteries apart from conventional lead-acid, calcium, or even other lithium batteries. This BMS enables the battery to accept a broad range of charging profiles, including lead acid, gel, and AGM. However, the battery is not compatible with calcium charging profiles. For optimal performance, if your charger offers a dedicated lithium charging profile, it is advisable to use that profile for the best results.

Maintenance and Safety

To keep your X range performing at its best, it is important to fully charge and discharge the unit once every 3 months. When not in use, it is recommended to completely isolate the battery, charge it to 13.5V, and check the voltage every 3 months. Always follow safety precautions: do not disassemble, modify, or use the battery near fire. Never use the battery in connection with life support systems or other medical equipment.

Practical help

Common problems

Battery enters safe mode

Follow the specific recovery procedure using a solar panel, jump starter, or charged battery and jumper cables as outlined in the manual.

Battery not charging

Ensure the charger is not set to a calcium profile and that the battery is not in safe mode.

Before use

  • Check for any physical damage to the casing or terminals
  • Ensure the battery is not in safe mode
  • Verify the charging source is compatible (not calcium)
  • Download the iTechworld Connect app for monitoring
  • Ensure proper ventilation if mounted under the bonnet
  • Use a heat shield if mounting in high-temperature areas

Specs in practice

Nominal Voltage
The standard operating voltage of the battery, which is 12.8V.
BMS Low Voltage Cut Off
The voltage level at 10V where the battery automatically shuts down to prevent damage.

Images and diagrams

  • Parallel Connection: Connects batteries to increase total capacity while maintaining 12V.
  • Series Connection: Connects batteries to increase total voltage (up to 48V).
  • Discharge Curve: Shows the voltage stability of the battery under a 0.25A load across its state of charge.

Model compatibility

  • Compatible with lead acid, gel, and AGM charging profiles.
  • Not compatible with calcium charging profiles.
  • Can be connected in series up to 48V (4 batteries).
  • Parallel connection is unlimited.
