Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential instructions for the proper use, maintenance, and care of Riester stethoscopes. These devices are latex-free and designed for the auscultation of body sounds, particularly heart and lung sounds, to assist in the diagnosis of internal organ conditions. Ensure only original Riester accessories are used to maintain device functionality.
Device operation
For models like duplex, duplex baby, duplex neonatal, tristar, and ri-rap, the chest-piece can be turned to select between the membrane (high frequencies) or the bell side (low frequencies). For cardiophon 2.0 and duplex 2.0 series, a special marking on the tubing connection indicates which membrane is currently active.
Adjustment of binaurals
Binaurals should be worn at an anatomically correct angle, slightly directed forward. If the contact pressure is too weak, press the binaurals together. If the pressure is too strong, expand them. The ear-tips should sit comfortably in the external auditory canal to block out external noise.
Membrane replacement
To replace the membrane, remove the non-chill ring from the chest-piece. Place the new membrane into the ring with the printed side facing upwards and press it back onto the chest-piece. For ri-rap models, unscrew the ring nut, insert the membrane, and fasten the nut again. Ensure the membrane is correctly seated and does not shift during installation.
