The RYMASKON series provides intelligent single-room control for modern building automation. This document outlines the key features, system highlights, and integration options for the RYMASKON controllers and W-Modbus solutions. The system is designed for energy-efficient building operation, supporting various HVAC control functions.

System Highlights
- Versatile Control: Supports PI, PWM, or 2-/3-point control with 0-10 V or digital outputs.
- Advanced Monitoring: Integrated CO2 and VOC sensors (optional) and open window detection.
- Shading Control: Individually adjustable slat angles with two separately controllable zones.
- User Interface: 2-inch high-contrast TFT display with wide viewing angle, touch buttons, PIN protection, and child safety lock.
- Personalization: S+S CuRA allows for individual register blocks and custom configurations.
W-Modbus Integration
The W-Modbus protocol enables wireless communication in smart buildings, replacing conventional RTU cables.
- Architecture: Uses a license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band with frequency hopping for reliability.
- Capacity: Up to 100 nodes in a shared mesh topology.
- Range: Up to 500 meters (line of sight) with up to 8 hops.
- Installation: Quick commissioning in 3 steps; push-in terminals for easy mounting.
Configuration and Setup
The system includes a free Windows-based configuration tool for USB connection, firmware updates, and managing up to 48 time programs. The RYMASKON online product configurator at www.SplusS.de offers over 900 customization options.

Practical help
Common problems
Use W-Modbus solutions to eliminate the need for data cables and simplify installation planning.
W-Modbus devices allow for immediate commissioning by setting only the slave address; other parameters are set automatically.
Use an external sensor to avoid the influence of self-heating on the controller.
Before use
- Ensure power supply is compatible (24 V AC/DC or 230 V AC for controllers).
- Verify if the installation requires wired Modbus or wireless W-Modbus.
- Check if optional sensors (CO2, VOC) are required for your specific room climate monitoring needs.
- Download the free Windows configuration tool for initial setup and register adjustments.
- Confirm the required housing variant (on-wall or top-hat rail) for your installation environment.
Specs in practice
- Flow velocity (0.1...20 m/s)
- Operating range for airflow sensors used in duct monitoring.
- W-Modbus range (up to 500 m)
- Maximum distance in open field conditions; effective range may vary in industrial environments.
- TFT display viewing angle (85°)
- Ensures high visibility of the interface from various positions in the room.
Images and diagrams
- The system diagram shows the integration of window contacts, external temperature sensors, actuators (0-10 V), and keycard switches into the RYMASKON controller.
- The W-Modbus network topology illustrates the gateway acting as a transition between wired Modbus and wireless radio-based units.
Model compatibility
- W-Modbus is ideal for refurbishment and retrofitting projects where cabling is difficult.
- Controllers support 6-way valves, configurable via parameters.
- The system is compatible with various DDC systems for airflow monitoring.
