Product Overview

The Sony E 15mm F1.4 G is a high-performance prime lens designed exclusively for Sony E-mount cameras with APS-C sensors. It offers a bright F1.4 aperture, making it ideal for low-light photography and achieving beautiful background bokeh.

Attaching and Detaching

To attach the lens, remove the rear lens cap and the camera body cap. Align the white index on the lens barrel with the mounting index on the camera, then rotate the lens clockwise until it locks. To detach, press the lens release button on the camera and rotate the lens counterclockwise.

Focusing and Aperture Control

The lens features a focus mode switch to toggle between AF (autofocus) and MF (manual focus). In MF mode, use the focusing ring to adjust focus manually. The lens also includes a focus hold button, which can be customized on compatible camera models to lock focus. The aperture ring allows for manual control of the aperture from F1.4 to F16. When set to the A position, the camera controls the aperture automatically. An aperture click switch is provided to enable or disable the click sound, which is particularly useful for silent movie recording.

Lens Hood

Using the included lens hood is recommended to reduce flare and ensure maximum image quality. Align the red line on the hood with the index on the lens and rotate clockwise until it clicks into place.

Safety and Maintenance

• Sunlight Exposure: Never leave the lens exposed to the sun or bright light sources to prevent internal damage or fire.
• Handling: Always hold both the camera and the lens firmly when carrying.
• Weather Resistance: While designed with dust and splash resistance, the lens is not waterproof. Avoid exposure to rain.
• Vignetting: If corners appear dark, close the aperture by 1 to 2 stops.
• Cleaning: Do not touch the lens contacts.
