Safety Precautions

Installation and Operation

To attach the lens, align the white mounting index on the lens barrel with the white index on the camera body. Insert the lens and rotate it clockwise until it locks. To remove, hold down the lens release button on the camera and rotate the lens counterclockwise.

The lens features a zoom ring for adjusting focal length and a focus mode switch to toggle between Auto Focus (AF) and Manual Focus (MF). For AF operation, ensure both the camera and lens are set to AF mode.

Lens Hood and Flash Usage

Using the included lens hood helps reduce flare and ensures optimal image quality. Align the red line on the hood with the red line on the lens and rotate clockwise until it clicks. When using a built-in or external flash, remove the lens hood to prevent shadows from appearing in your images.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

If the corners of the screen appear darker than the center (vignetting), close the aperture by 1 to 2 stops. Keep lens contacts clean and avoid touching them. If the lens requires service, contact your local authorized Sony dealer or service facility.
