The Texas Smart Sweep series is designed for efficient sweeping. Before starting, ensure the engine is filled with oil, as it is shipped without it. Always inspect the area for foreign objects like stones or glass before operation. The operator must remain within the designated safety zone during use.
Safety instructions
Preparation: Keep hands and feet away from rotating parts. Read the manual thoroughly to understand all controls. Never allow children or untrained individuals to operate the machine. Always inspect the machine for worn or damaged parts before use.
Operation: Never leave the safety zone while the engine is running. If you must leave, stop the engine first. If the machine hits a foreign object, stop the engine, remove the spark plug terminal, and inspect for damage. Do not operate on steep slopes and avoid fast speeds.
Petrol safety: Petrol is highly flammable. Never refuel indoors or while the engine is hot. Wipe up any spills immediately. Use only approved containers.
Assembly
The sweeper is supplied almost ready for operation. Follow these steps:

- Handlebars: Place the oversteering over the fixed bolts on the machine and secure with nuts.
- Support legs: Attach using the provided nut, spring, and washer.
- Gear selector: Attach using the provided bolt and nut. For new machines, use bolt hole no. 1. After 100 hours of operation, switch to bolt hole no. 2.
- Brushes: Slide the brushes onto the shaft, fit the outer metal cups, and secure with the provided nuts.
Operation
Starting the engine: For a cold engine, open the choke. Set the throttle to 'start'. Pull the recoil starter until resistance is felt, then pull strongly. Regulate the choke until the engine runs smoothly.

Electric start (800E/1000E models): Set the choke to 'Choke' (cold) or 'Run' (warm). Set throttle to full. Insert the start button into the ignition lock and push until the engine starts.
Stopping the engine: Set the throttle to minimum/stop and close the fuel cock.
Adjustments: Brush height can be adjusted using the rotary handle above the brush. The brush angle can be adjusted by 25 degrees to each side using the support rod.
Maintenance and storage
Stop the engine before any maintenance. Regularly check that all bolts and nuts are tight. Store the machine in a dry place. For electric start models, charge the battery 1-2 times during winter to maintain capacity.
Troubleshooting
If the engine does not start, check the spark plug, ignition switch, and fuel cock. If the machine vibrates abnormally, stop immediately and find the cause. If brushes do not operate, check the clutch adjustment and V-belt tension.
Technical specifications
The series includes models 800/800E and 1000/1000E. Both feature 3 forward gears and 1 reverse gear, a brush diameter of 350mm, and a brush speed of 180-350 rpm. Tyre pressure should be maintained at 30 psi (2 bar).
Practical help
Common problems
Check spark plug, ensure spark plug terminal is fitted, verify ignition switch is activated, and check that the fuel cock is open.
Ensure the choke is switched off and check the fuel for impurities.
Check that the clutch is adjusted correctly and ensure the V-belt is tight.
Check the distance from the brush to the ground and adjust using the rotary handle.
Before use
- Check oil level in the engine (not pre-filled from factory)
- Check tyre pressure on both wheels (30 psi / 2 bar)
- Remove all foreign bodies from the area (stones, glass, branches)
- Check that all bolts on the sweeper are secure
- Ensure you know how to stop the machine and use the emergency stop
Specs in practice
- Working width
- 800mm for 800 series, 1000mm for 1000 series
- Tyre pressure
