The Thule Yepp 2 Mini is a front-mounted child bike seat designed for children aged 9 to 36 months, with a weight capacity of 9-15 kg (20-33 lbs) and a maximum height of 93 cm (36.61 inches). Before use, ensure the child is able to sit up unaided and wear a helmet.
Safety warnings
- Speed limit: Do not exceed 25 km/h (15 mph).
- Weather: Avoid using the seat in extreme weather conditions, such as heavy rain or extreme temperatures.
- Visibility: Ensure the child is visible and the bike has appropriate lighting, especially at night.
- Prohibitions: Do not modify the seat. Do not carry more than one child. Do not attach the seat to a bike that is not compatible.
Installation
The seat requires a compatible handlebar stem for mounting. The stem diameter must be between 22-28 mm (0.87-1.10 inches) with a minimum of 21 mm (0.83 inches) of vertical space.
Mounting the bracket
There are two installation alternatives (Alt 1 and Alt 2) depending on your bike's stem configuration. Follow the specific steps in the manual for your bike type. Ensure all bolts are tightened to the specified torque of 6 Nm.
Assembling the seat
Attach the seat components using the provided screws. Tighten the assembly bolts to 2 Nm. Ensure the seat clicks securely into the mounting bracket.
Usage
To place the child in the seat, ensure the bike is stable. Secure the child using the harness system. Adjust the harness straps so they are snug but comfortable. Ensure the buckle is fully engaged and clicks into place. Always check that the seat is locked to the bracket before every ride.
Maintenance
Regularly inspect the seat for any signs of wear or damage. Clean the seat with mild soap and water. Ensure the locking mechanism is free of debris and functions correctly.
