Before using the Xiaomi Multifunctional Rice Cooker for the first time, it is recommended to boil water in the rice mode 2-3 times to remove any manufacturing odors. Ensure the device is placed on a stable, level surface, at least 30 cm away from walls or heat sources. Always ensure the inner lid is properly installed before cooking.
Product Overview
The rice cooker consists of the main unit, a removable inner lid, a steam valve, and a cooking pot. The control panel allows you to select cooking modes and set timers.
Control Panel
The control panel includes the following buttons and indicators:
- Cancel: Cancels the current operation or timer setting.
- Timer: Sets the delay timer for cooking.
- Start: Begins the selected cooking program.
- Select: Cycles through available cooking modes (Rice, Quick Rice, Congee, Stew, Keep Warm).
If no action is taken within 5 minutes of plugging in the device, the display will show "----" and eventually turn off. Press any button to wake the device.
How to Use
- Open the lid: Press the lid release button.
- Add ingredients: Add rice and water according to the markings inside the pot. Do not exceed the maximum water level.
- Select mode: Plug in the device and use the Select button to choose the desired cooking mode.
- Start cooking: Press the Start button.
- Timer function: To delay cooking, select a mode, press the Timer button, and set the desired completion time.
Cooking Modes
- Rice: Default mode, takes approximately 1 hour.
- Quick Rice: Faster cooking mode, takes approximately 30 minutes.
- Congee: Porridge mode, takes approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.
- Stew: Slow cooking mode, takes approximately 1 hour.
- Keep Warm: Automatically activates after cooking finishes, maintaining a temperature of approximately 73°C for up to 12 hours.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Always unplug the device and let it cool down before cleaning. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Inner Lid: Press the release latch to remove the inner lid. Wash it after every use.
- Steam Valve: Remove and clean the steam valve regularly to prevent blockages.
- Cooking Pot: Use a soft cloth to clean the pot. Do not use metal scouring pads or abrasive cleaners.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, check the following:
- Lid won't close: Ensure the inner lid is installed correctly.
- Rice half-cooked: Check the water-to-rice ratio.
- Rice smells bad: Clean the steam valve and inner lid; do not keep warm for longer than 12 hours.
- Rice burnt at bottom: Wash rice thoroughly before cooking and check for foreign objects.
