Quick guide from the manual
This manual provides essential operating instructions for the Bosch GSR 18V-45 and GSB 18V-45 cordless drill/drivers. The GSB model includes an additional impact drilling mode for masonry and stone. Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, tool changes, or transport to prevent accidental activation.
Device description
The tools feature a keyless chuck, torque presetting ring, gear selector, and an LED worklight that also serves as a status indicator for battery and tool protection.
Operation
Inserting the battery: Slide the charged battery into the base of the tool until it locks securely.

Setting rotation: Use the rotational direction switch only when the tool is at a standstill. Press left for clockwise (drilling/screwing) and right for counter-clockwise (loosening).
Operating modes: Use the torque/mode rings to select between drilling, screwdriving, or impact drilling (GSB model only).
Speed and torque: Speed is controlled by the pressure applied to the on/off switch. Torque can be preselected in 20 stages for screwdriving.
Maintenance and safety
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. The battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP). If the LED flashes 3 times during operation, the battery is low. If it flashes 3 times after stopping, the tool protection is active.

Before use
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Check that the correct tool bit is inserted and the chuck is tightened.
- Set the correct rotational direction.
- Select the appropriate gear (1 for high torque/screwing, 2 for high speed/drilling).
- Set the operating mode (drilling, screwdriving, or impact drilling).
Specs in practice
- Max. torque (hard)
- Maximum force for tightening screws in hard materials.
- Chuck capacity
- The range of drill bit shank diameters the chuck can hold (1.5–13 mm).
- No-load speed
- The rotational speed of the tool without a load, adjustable via the trigger.
