Quick guide from the manual
This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch 18V-EC Professional Cordless Drill Driver (GSR and GSB models). Always read the full safety instructions before use.

Device description
The tool is designed for driving and loosening screws, and for drilling in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic. The GSB model is also designed for impact drilling in brick, masonry, and stone.
Assembly
Always remove the battery before performing any work on the tool (e.g., maintenance, tool change, transport, or storage) to prevent accidental activation.
Charging the battery
Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. The battery is supplied partially charged; fully charge it before first use. The Li-ion battery is protected against deep discharge by Electronic Cell Protection (ECP).
Tool change
The drill spindle is locked when the on/off switch is not pressed, allowing for quick and easy tool changes in the keyless chuck. Open the chuck by turning in direction 1, insert the tool, and tighten firmly by hand in direction 2.
Operation
Setting the rotational direction
Use the rotational direction switch only when the tool is at a standstill. Press to the left for drilling and driving screws, and to the right for loosening screws and nuts.
Setting the operating mode
- Drilling: Set the torque presetting ring (GSR) or mode selector switch (GSB) to the drilling symbol.
- Screwdriving: Set the torque presetting ring to the required torque.
- Impact drilling (GSB only): Set the mode selector switch to the impact drilling symbol.
Speed and torque
The speed can be adjusted steplessly by varying the pressure on the on/off switch. The torque can be pre-selected in 20 stages using the torque presetting ring.
Safety and maintenance
Always keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. If the tool becomes blocked, it will switch off automatically (KickBack Control). If this happens, release the on/off switch and press it again to restart.
