Removing the Battery: Press the release button and pull the battery out of the tool. Do not use force.

Changing the Tool:

  • GDR 18V-160: Pull the locking sleeve forward, insert the tool into the holder until it stops, and release the sleeve to lock it. Use only screwdriver bits with a ball catch.
  • GDX 18V-180: Slide the tool onto the square drive of the tool holder.

Operation

Setting the Rotational Direction: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Do not change while the on/off switch is pressed.

Switching On/Off: Press and hold the on/off switch to start. Release it to stop. The PowerLight illuminates the work area when the switch is pressed.

Adjusting the Speed: The speed can be adjusted steplessly by varying the pressure on the on/off switch.

Practical advice

The torque depends on the impact duration. Maximum torque is reached after 6–10 seconds of impact. Always check the actual tightening torque with a torque wrench. For larger, longer screws in hard materials, pre-drill a pilot hole to approximately 2/3 of the screw length.

Maintenance and cleaning

Regularly clean the ventilation slots to prevent dust accumulation. Check the length of the carbon brushes every 2–3 months and replace both if necessary. Use only original Bosch carbon brushes.
