Assembly and Tool Change
Important: Always remove the battery before performing any work on the tool (maintenance, tool change, etc.) or during transport and storage.
- Changing the tool: Open the Starlock lever (7) all the way to eject the accessory. Position the new accessory on the tool holder (8) and press it firmly until it locks automatically.
- Depth stop: Can be used with segment and plunge cut saw blades. Slide it over the tool holder onto the collar of the power tool and lock it in the desired position.
- Dust extraction: Always connect a dust extraction system when sanding. Attach the dust extraction system (13 or 14) over the tool holder and secure it with the clamping lever (17).
Operation
Switching on/off: Slide the on/off switch (2) forward to switch on the worklight. Slide it further forward to position "I" to switch on the power tool. Slide it backward to position "0" to switch off.
Preselecting the orbital stroke rate: Use the thumbwheel (6) to adjust the stroke rate even during operation. Use level "6" for sawing wood and level "4" for sanding or sawing plastic and metal.
Working Advice
- Sawing: Use only undamaged, perfect saw blades. Plunge cuts should only be applied to soft materials like wood or gypsum board.
- Sanding: Material removal rate depends on the sanding sheet, stroke rate, and contact pressure. Apply consistent pressure.
- Scraping: Select a high orbital stroke rate. Work on soft surfaces at a flat angle with low pressure.
Maintenance
Keep the power tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Regularly clean Riff accessories with a wire brush.
