The Bosch GUS 12V-300 Professional is a cordless universal cutter designed for cutting flexible, soft materials such as carpet, PVC, cardboard, leather, and fabrics up to 11 mm in thickness. It is suitable for both straight and curved cuts.
Device description
The tool features an adjustable protective guard to protect fingers during operation, a guide runner for stability, and a Cut Control line mark for precise cutting. It is powered by a 12V Li-ion battery.

Assembly and setup

- Battery: Insert the charged battery into the battery receptacle until it clicks into place.
- Blade change: Before changing, allow the blade to cool. Loosen the knurled screw and push the protective guard up. Use a screwdriver to rotate the blade until a hole is visible, then insert a thin, stable object (like a nail) to block the blade. Unscrew the blade securing screw, remove the old blade, and install the new one with the ground edge facing outwards. Retighten the screw and adjust the guard.
- Guard adjustment: Always adjust the protective guard to the thickness of the material being cut. Loosen the knurled screw, adjust the guard so it rests loosely on the material, and retighten the screw.
Operation
To switch on, slide the on/off switch forward to position I. To switch off, slide it backward to position 0. The Cut Control red line on the guard indicates the cutting path of the blade.
Practical advice
- Do not overload the tool to the point of stalling.
- For thin materials like fabrics, keep the material taut and cut slowly to prevent it from being pulled into the tool.
- If the tool stalls due to overload or temperature, it will automatically switch off or reduce speed. Allow the battery to cool before restarting.
Maintenance and cleaning
Always remove the battery before performing maintenance or changing tools. Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Regularly clean the protective guard with a brush or a slightly dampened cloth to remove material residues.
