The Bosch EXACT ION 18V-LI series is an industrial-grade cordless screwdriver designed for tightening and loosening screws, nuts, and other threaded fasteners. It features a torque-dependent shut-off clutch and is intended for industrial environments only. It is not suitable for drilling.
Device Description
The tool includes a tool holder, quick-change chuck, worklight, torque preselection slider, on/off switch, rotational direction switch, and battery charge indicator. It also features an LED indicator for screwdriving results.
Operation
Before starting, set the rotational direction using the switch. The tool will not start if the switch is in the center position (lock-off). The torque is adjusted via the spring preload of the shut-off clutch using the provided adjustment tool. The clutch triggers automatically when the set torque is reached.
Battery Management
The tool uses Li-ion batteries. The yellow LED charge indicator provides status updates: flashing with sound means the battery needs charging (6-8 screws remaining); continuous light with sound means the battery is empty or the tool is overloaded; flashing light indicates overheating.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Always remove the battery before performing maintenance. Clean the gearbox with a mild solvent after the first 150 operating hours and every 300 hours thereafter. Lubricate moving parts of the shut-off clutch every 100,000 screw connections with motor oil (SAE 10/SAE 20) and Molykote grease. Check the entire tool for wear every 100,000 screw connections.

Common problems
Tool does not start
Check if the rotational direction switch is in the center position (lock-off) or if the battery is empty/overheated.
Shut-off clutch does not trigger
Ensure the torque is set within the specified power range.
LED indicator flashes red with sound
The preset torque was not reached; the screw must be driven in again.
Before use
- Ensure the battery is fully charged.
- Set the correct rotational direction.
- Adjust the torque using the provided adjustment tool.
- Ensure the application tool is securely held in the tool holder.
- Check the condition of the hanging hook if using a suspension device.
