Product Description
The GSA 18V-LI C is a cordless reciprocating saw designed for cutting wood, plastic, metal, and building materials. Key features include:
- Saw blade receptacle (SDS): For quick and tool-free blade changes.
- Lock-off button: Prevents accidental activation of the on/off switch.
- Worklight: Illuminates the cutting area.
- Variable stroke rate: Controlled by the pressure applied to the on/off switch.
Assembly

Inserting and Changing the Saw Blade
- Wear protective gloves when handling saw blades as they are sharp and can become hot.
- Ensure the saw blade receptacle is free of material residue (e.g., wood or metal chips).
- Turn the locking sleeve approx. 90° in the direction of the arrow and hold it firmly.
- Push the saw blade into the saw blade receptacle.
- Release the locking sleeve.
- Check that the blade is seated securely by pulling on it.
Operation

Switching On and Off
To switch on the tool, press the lock-off button to the left, then press and hold the on/off switch. To switch off, release the on/off switch and press the lock-off button to the right.
Controlling the Stroke Rate
The stroke rate is variably adjustable by the pressure applied to the on/off switch. Light pressure results in a low stroke rate, while increasing pressure increases the rate.
Working Advice

Plunge Cutting
Plunge cuts may only be applied to soft materials like wood or gypsum board. Do not plunge cut metal. Use short saw blades for this operation. Place the base plate on the workpiece, switch on the tool, and allow the blade to plunge slowly into the material.
Flush Sawing
Using elastic bi-metal saw blades, you can cut protruding components (like water pipes) directly at the wall. Ensure the blade is longer than the diameter of the workpiece to avoid kickback. Bend the blade slightly by applying lateral pressure to the tool until the base plate is flush with the wall.
Maintenance and Service
Always keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation. Clean the saw blade receptacle regularly with a soft cloth or brush. If the tool becomes very dirty, it may lead to faults; avoid cutting materials that generate large quantities of dust from below or overhead.
