Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Bosch GSR 18V-55 Professional Cordless Drill. Always read the full safety instructions before use.
Device Description
The tool is designed for driving and loosening screws and for drilling in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic. The GSB model is also designed for impact drilling in brick, masonry, and stone.
Assembly
Remove the battery before any work on the power tool (e.g., maintenance, tool change, etc.) and for transport/storage to prevent accidental activation.

Charging the Battery
Use only the chargers listed in the technical data. The battery is supplied partially charged; fully charge it before the first use.
Tool Change
The drill spindle is locked when the on/off switch is not pressed, allowing for quick and easy tool changes. Open the keyless chuck by turning it, insert the tool, and tighten the chuck firmly by hand.
Operation
Inserting the battery: Push the charged battery into the base of the tool from the front until it locks securely.
Setting the rotational direction: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Do not operate while the on/off switch is pressed.
Operating modes: Set the torque/mode presetting ring to the desired symbol (Drilling, Screwdriving, or Impact Drilling for GSB models).
Switching on/off: Press and hold the on/off switch to start. Release to stop.
Adjusting speed: Speed is infinitely variable depending on how far the on/off switch is pressed.
Maintenance and Service
Keep the power tool and ventilation slots clean for safe and efficient operation. For repairs or spare parts, contact your local Bosch service center.

Specs in practice
- Rated voltage
- 18V, indicates the battery system compatibility.
- No-load speed
- 0-460 rpm (1st gear) / 0-1800 rpm (2nd gear), determines the speed range for different tasks.
Images and diagrams
- Figure A: Shows the process of opening the keyless chuck, inserting a bit, and tightening the chuck.
- Figure B: Illustrates the rotational direction switch settings for right (drilling/screwdriving) and left (loosening) rotation.
