Device Description

The UniversalHammer 18V is designed for hammer drilling in concrete, brick, and stone, as well as light chiseling. It is also suitable for drilling without impact in wood, metal, ceramic, and plastic, and for screwdriving.

Assembly and Setup

  • Auxiliary Handle: Ensure the auxiliary handle is always securely tightened. You can swivel it to any angle for a comfortable working posture by loosening the wing bolt.
  • Drill Chuck Selection: Use SDS-plus tools for hammer drilling and chiseling. For drilling without impact or screwdriving, use tools without SDS-plus (e.g., cylindrical shank bits) with a keyed chuck.
  • Changing the Tool: The SDS-plus system allows for easy tool changes without additional tools. Clean and lightly grease the insertion end of the tool before inserting it into the tool holder until it locks automatically.
  • Depth Stop: Use the depth stop to set the required drilling depth. Press the adjustment button and insert the depth stop into the auxiliary handle.

Operation

  • Operating Modes: Use the impact/mode selector switch to choose between hammer drilling, drilling without impact, and chiseling. Only change the mode when the tool is switched off.
  • Rotational Direction: Use the rotational direction switch to change the direction. Only operate this switch when the tool is at a standstill.
  • Switching On/Off: Press the on/off switch to start the tool. The worklight illuminates when the switch is pressed. Release the switch to stop.
  • Speed/Impact Rate: The speed and impact rate can be adjusted steplessly by varying the pressure on the on/off switch.

Maintenance and Cleaning

  • Always remove the battery before performing any maintenance, tool changes, or transport.
  • Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean for safe operation.
  • Replace a damaged dust protection cap immediately.
  • Clean the tool holder after each use.
