The Braun Hair perfect HC 20N-R and HC 50N-R are hair clippers designed for household use. The HC 50N-R model is rechargeable, while the HC 20N-R is corded. Key operations include attaching the distance comb, adjusting the length settings, and performing regular maintenance such as cleaning and oiling the cutting system after every use.

Description of the device

• Distance comb: Used for setting hair length.
• Cutting system: The main blade assembly.
• Release button: Used to remove the cutting system for cleaning.
• Length selector: Adjusts the cutting length.
• On/off switch: Powers the device.
• Cord socket: For the power cord.
• Barber's comb and scissors: Included accessories for manual trimming.

Charging

Note: Charging applies to the HC 50N-R model only.

• For the first use or after long periods of inactivity, charge the clipper continuously for 4 hours.
• The charging light indicates the device is charging.
• A full charge provides up to 30 minutes of cordless trimming.
• If the battery is discharged, you can operate the clipper via the mains cord. If it does not start immediately, charge it for approximately 1 minute in the off position.
• Best environmental temperature for charging is 15 °C to 35 °C.

Usage instructions

Normal clipping

• Push the distance comb onto the clipper until it locks.
• Set the length selector to position 1.
• Use the length selector to choose the desired setting (4–25 mm).
• Switch the device on and move it slowly against the direction of hair growth, keeping the comb flat against the head.

Clipping without distance comb

• Remove the distance comb (only possible at setting 1).
• Move the cutting system parallel to the skin.
• For contour trimming, the cutting system can be positioned vertically.
• Do not tilt the appliance while it is touching the skin.

Maintenance and cleaning

• After each use, remove the distance comb and shake or brush off hair.
• Press the release button to open the cutting system.
• Use the provided cleaning brush to clean the cutting system and the inside of the clipper.
• Important: Oil the cutting system with light machine oil after each use to ensure proper performance.
• Click the cutting system back into its original position after cleaning.

Safety information

• Keep the appliance dry.
• Do not use the clipper near or over basins filled with water (e.g., bathtubs, showers).
• Do not wind the cord around the appliance.
• The appliance is not intended for use by children or persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities without supervision.
• Do not use if the cord or plug is damaged.
