Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential instructions for the safe operation and maintenance of the Champion 11,000W Wireless Remote Start Inverter Generator (Model 201407). Crucial safety warning: Always operate the generator outdoors in a well-ventilated area, far away from windows, doors, and vents to prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Never use it indoors, even if doors or windows are open.

Assembly
The generator requires initial assembly:
- Support Leg: Attach to the frame using the provided flange bolts.
- Wheels: Slide wheels onto the axle, secure with washers and bolts, and attach hub caps.
- Battery: Remove the access cover and connect the two halves of the battery connector.
- Oil: Add 1.2 US qt. (1100 mL) of 10W-30 oil. Do not overfill.
- Fuel: Use regular unleaded gasoline (minimum 87 octane, max 10% ethanol). Do not overfill past the red indicator.
Operation
Starting the Engine:
- Ensure the generator is on a flat, level surface.
- Turn the fuel dial to the ON position.
- Press the ignition control button once to enter standby mode.
- Wireless Start: Press the START button on the remote key fob.
- Electric Start: Press the ignition control button again.
- Manual Start: Press the CHOKE button, then pull the recoil cord. Once started, press the choke button again to set to RUN.
Stopping the Engine: Turn off and unplug all electrical loads, then press the ignition control button or the STOP button on the remote. Finally, turn the fuel dial to the OFF position.
CO Shield System
The CO Shield system monitors for carbon monoxide accumulation. If dangerous levels are detected, the generator will automatically shut off and a red LED will blink. Move the generator to an open, outdoor area and ensure exhaust is pointed away from people and buildings before attempting to restart.
Maintenance
Regular maintenance is required for optimal performance:
- Every 8 hours/before use: Check oil level and clean around air intake/muffler.
- First 5 hours: Change engine oil.
- Every 50 hours/annually: Clean air filter and change oil if operating under heavy load.
- Every 100 hours/annually: Change oil, clean/adjust spark plug, clean spark arrestor, and clean fuel valve filter.
Troubleshooting
If the generator fails to start, check for low fuel, low oil level, a loose spark plug wire, or if the fuel dial is in the OFF position. If the generator shuts down during operation, ensure it is not overloaded and that the exhaust is not obstructed or facing into the wind.
