This document provides essential steps to prepare and start your Champion 1200W portable generator. It is intended as a quick reference and does not replace the full operator's manual, which should be read in its entirety before use.

Safety and warnings
- Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never use the generator indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space, even if doors and windows are open. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a deadly, odorless, and invisible gas.
- Outdoor Use Only: Operate the generator only outdoors, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
- Clearance: Maintain at least 5 feet (1.5 m) of clearance around the generator. Heat from the muffler and exhaust can ignite combustible materials.
Setup

- Add Engine Oil: Use 10W-30 oil. Capacity is up to 11.8 fl. oz. (350 ml). Do not overfill.
- Positioning: Move the generator to a safe outdoor location.
- Add Fuel: Use gasoline. Do not use E15 or E85 fuel.
- Electrical Connections: Ensure no electrical devices are connected or turned on before starting the generator.
Starting the engine
- Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
- Press the engine switch to the ON position.
- Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position.
- Pull the recoil starter to start the engine.
- Once the engine is running, move the choke lever to the RUN position.
- Connect your electrical loads only after the engine is running.
