Safety and warnings

  • Carbon Monoxide Hazard: Never use the generator indoors, in a garage, or in any enclosed space, even if doors and windows are open. Exhaust contains carbon monoxide, a deadly, odorless, and invisible gas.
  • Outdoor Use Only: Operate the generator only outdoors, far away from windows, doors, and vents.
  • Clearance: Maintain at least 5 feet (1.5 m) of clearance around the generator. Heat from the muffler and exhaust can ignite combustible materials.

  1. Add Engine Oil: Use 10W-30 oil. Capacity is up to 11.8 fl. oz. (350 ml). Do not overfill.
  2. Positioning: Move the generator to a safe outdoor location.
  3. Add Fuel: Use gasoline. Do not use E15 or E85 fuel.
  4. Electrical Connections: Ensure no electrical devices are connected or turned on before starting the generator.

Starting the engine

  1. Turn the fuel valve to the ON position.
  2. Press the engine switch to the ON position.
  3. Move the choke lever to the CHOKE position.
  4. Pull the recoil starter to start the engine.
  5. Once the engine is running, move the choke lever to the RUN position.
  6. Connect your electrical loads only after the engine is running.
