Nozzle
Attach the nozzle to the shut-off handle or extension wand.
Pre-use check
- Check the tightness of the hose nut.
- Inspect the hose for deterioration, cracks, softness, or brittleness. Replace if necessary.
- Inspect the tank interior and exterior for signs of deterioration.
- Test the unit with water only (10-20 pump strokes) to check for leaks and clogs.
- Inspect all metal parts (wand, nozzle, fittings) for rust or corrosion.
Filling
- Turn the pump handle counterclockwise to remove the pump.
- Prepare the spray solution according to the chemical label.
- Fill the tank to the proper gallon marker. Do not overfill.
- Ensure the pump barrel is free of grass or dirt, then replace and tighten securely.
Pressurizing and spraying
- Turn the handle clockwise to tighten.
- Pump until you feel resistance.
- Push the handle down and turn 1/4 turn clockwise to lock.
- Begin spraying. Re-pump as needed to maintain spray force.
Releasing pressure
- Lift and hold the pressure relief valve cap until air is exhausted, OR turn the valve slowly counterclockwise until air escapes.
- Stay away from the sprayer until all air has escaped.
Care, storage and maintenance
- Rinse the unit thoroughly with the recommended solvent after each use.
- Run the solvent through the discharge assembly.
- Release pressure, remove the pump, and empty the sprayer.
- Store the tank upside down with the pump removed in a warm, dry location.
- Periodically oil the pump by adding 10-12 drops of light oil down the pump rod through the opening in the cover.
Troubleshooting
If the tank pressurizes but does not spray:

- Clean shut-off: Pull the handle straight up. Insert notches from the underside of the handle into the plunger grooves and turn counter-clockwise. Remove the plunger and wash the diaphragm in mild dish detergent. Tighten the plunger clockwise until flush with the top of the shut-off body (do not over-tighten).
- Clean nozzle: Unscrew the nozzle cap, clean, and re-assemble.
