Quick guide from the manual

The Chapin EZ Mount 12-Volt Sprayer is designed for spot spraying applications. Before use, ensure the wiring harness is not pinched or damaged. Always wear protective gear, including goggles, gloves, long sleeves, and pants. Do not use with flammable, caustic, acidic, chlorine, bleach, or petroleum-based chemicals. For technical support or replacement parts, call 1-800-950-4458.

Nozzle/Wand Assembly:

  1. Screw the nozzle assembly onto the male threaded end of the extension wand.
  2. Screw the female threaded end of the extension wand onto the shut-off assembly.
  3. Tighten the retaining nut securely.

Operation

The system draws solution from the tank through a strainer to the pump. The pump features a pressure switch that automatically shuts it off when it reaches 60 PSI. Regularly inspect the suction supply screen inside the tank and flush with water to clear any accumulated debris.

After Spraying and Cleaning

To maintain the pump and system:

  • Fill the sprayer partially with water and run it to flush the plumbing system and spray wand.
  • Refill the tank halfway with clean water and a chemical neutralizer, then flush the entire system again.
  • Follow the chemical manufacturer's instructions for disposing of all wash or rinse water.

Winter Storage

To prevent damage from freezing and chemical residue:

  • Drain all water and chemicals from the sprayer, paying special attention to the pump and valves.
  • Pump a solution of RV antifreeze through the entire plumbing system before storage.

Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues, check the following:

  • Pump won't start: Verify 12-13V power, check electrical connections, fuse/breaker, and pressure switch operation.
  • Pump won't prime: Check for debris in the strainer, kinks in inlet/outlet tubes, or debris in valves.
  • Pump won't shut off: Check for air trapped in the line, leaks, or pressure switch adjustment.
  • Pump makes noise but no output: Prime the pump by removing the intake hose and flooding it with water while running.

Practical help

Common problems

Pump will not start

Check for correct voltage (12-13V), inspect electrical connections, check the in-line fuse, and ensure the switch is in the 'on' position.

Pump will not prime

Check for debris in the suction strainer, kinks in the inlet/outlet tubes, or debris/swelling in the inlet/outlet valves.

Pump will not shut off

Check for air trapped in the outlet line, leaks in the system, or adjust the pressure switch.

Fuse blows repeatedly

Check for excessive voltage, improper pressure switch adjustment, or a damaged wiring harness.

Before use

  • Verify all electrical connections are secure.
  • Ensure the power switch is in the 'on' position.
  • Check that the voltage is between 12-13V.
  • Inspect the suction supply screen inside the tank for debris.
  • Ensure the wiring harness is not pinched or damaged.

Images and diagrams

  • The Nozzle/Wand Assembly diagram illustrates the correct order for attaching the nozzle, extension wand, and shut-off valve.
  • The Replacement Parts diagram identifies the tank, pump, hose, and wand components with reference numbers for ordering.

Model compatibility

  • Fits Chapin 8, 15, and 25-gallon ATV sprayers.
  • Do not use with flammable, caustic, acidic, chlorine, bleach, or petroleum-based solutions.
