This document provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of the Clarke 125L Cement Mixer (Model CCM125D). Always ensure the work area is clear, wear appropriate protective gear (gloves, eye protection, ear defenders, dust mask), and never operate the machine on a gradient. The mixer must be kept clean to prevent cement buildup.
Assembly
The mixer requires assembly before use. Key steps include:

- Bolting the main frame to the axle frame and support stand.
- Installing wheels and securing them with split pins.
- Attaching bearing housings and the lower drum assembly to the main frame.
- Fitting the angle adjusting plate and tilt handwheel.
- Installing the motor/drive assembly and tensioning the drive belt by bolting the drive to the frame.
- Attaching mixing blades to the upper drum and securing the upper drum to the lower drum.
Operation
Follow these steps for safe mixing:
- Switch the mixer on using the green (I) button.
- Add water first to prevent clogging, then add cement and aggregate.
- Always keep the drum rotating while filling and emptying.
- To empty, grip the tilt wheel firmly, disengage the locking lugs, and tip the drum forward.
- Stop the mixer using the red (O) button.
Maintenance and Care
Proper maintenance ensures longevity:
- After use: Thoroughly hose down the machine with clean water, especially around the mixing blades. Do not allow cement to harden inside the drum.
- Storage: Store in a dry place out of reach of children. The mixer can be stored with the axle frame and support stand folded away.
- Maintenance-free items: The bearings are sealed for life and the drive belt is under constant tension, requiring no adjustment.
Safety
Always disconnect the power supply before moving the machine or performing any maintenance. Never put hands or tools inside the rotating drum. Ensure the electrical cable is protected and undamaged.
