This document provides essential instructions for the safe installation and operation of the Della 048-TL-W5KW air conditioner. It is designed for rooms between 100-150 sq.ft (9-14 m²). Always use two or more people for installation and ensure the unit is properly grounded.
Installation and Assembly
The unit is designed for standard double-hung windows with a width between 23" and 34".
- Top Rail Assembly: Attach the top mounting rail to the unit using the provided 3/8" screws before placing it in the window.
- Accordion Panels: Slide the panels into the side channels of the unit.
- Placement: Place the unit on the window sill. Ensure it is slightly tilted downward toward the outside to allow for proper drainage of accumulated rainwater.
- Securing: Use the provided frame locks and sash lock to secure the unit to the window sill and lower sash. Use the supplied foam insulation between the window sashes to prevent air leaks.
Operating Your Air Conditioner
The unit features a manual control panel with two dials:
- MODE Dial: Select between Fan modes or Cooling modes. For maximum cooling, set to the snowflake icon.
- TEMP Dial: Adjust the desired temperature. Set to 7 (Max Cool) for the coldest setting.
- Airflow Direction: Use the horizontal wheel to adjust horizontal airflow and the air deflectors for vertical direction.
Note: Always wait at least 3 minutes before changing modes to prevent compressor overload.
Care and Cleaning
- Air Filter: Check at least once a month. Slide the filter out, wash with warm water and mild soap, and let it dry completely before reinserting.
- Cabinet: Unplug the unit before cleaning. Dust with an oil-free cloth or wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap.
- Winter Storage: Remove the unit from the window, clean it, and store it in the original box.
Safety and Troubleshooting
The unit uses R32 refrigerant. Ensure the installation site is well-ventilated and free from open flames or heat sources. If the unit does not start, check the power connection, house fuse, or the LCDI plug. If the unit is not cooling, ensure the filter is clean and no obstructions are blocking the airflow.

Common problems
Air conditioner will not start
Check if the unit is plugged in, the house fuse is intact, or if the LCDI plug needs to be reset.
Unit does not cool as it should
Check for blocked airflow, ensure the temperature dial is set correctly, clean the air filter, or check for escaping cold air.
Water dripping inside the room
Ensure the unit is slightly tilted downward toward the outside for proper drainage.
Unit is freezing up
Set the mode to High Fan or High Cool and adjust the temperature dial to 1 or 2.
