This document provides essential installation instructions for the Dometic 10-Series refrigerator. Proper installation is critical for safety and optimal performance. Key requirements include ensuring the vehicle is parked on a level surface (maximum 3-degree tilt), maintaining proper ventilation, and ensuring an airtight installation to prevent exhaust gases from entering the living area.
Safety instructions
- Explosion hazard: Never open the absorption unit; it is under high pressure. Use only the pressure specified on the type plate.
- Fire hazard: Do not use open flames to check for leaks. Use only propane or butane gas. Ensure silicone seals are applied cleanly without residue.
- Health hazard: If the appliance is damaged, do not operate it. Repairs must be performed by qualified personnel.
- Electrical safety: Ensure the power cable and plug are dry before operation.
Installation preparation
The refrigerator must be installed to allow for easy service access and removal. It must be installed with a minimum clearance of 5 mm from the floor to ensure the door opens correctly. The refrigerator must rest completely on the furniture base up to the front edge of the door.

Airtight installation
Gas-powered refrigerators in caravans and motorhomes must be installed in an airtight manner. This prevents combustion air from being drawn from the interior and exhaust gases from entering the living area. Use a flexible seal between the refrigerator's rear wall and the vehicle interior. Three versions are available depending on the gap size (1-5 mm or 5-10 mm).

Ventilation and exhaust
Proper ventilation is essential for cooling performance. Install a ventilation opening and an exhaust opening in the outer wall. If the minimum distance between these openings cannot be maintained, a roof ventilator must be installed. Ensure the refrigerator is protected from excessive heat radiation.
Gas connection
The refrigerator must be connected to the gas supply by a qualified specialist in accordance with applicable regulations. A shut-off device must be easily accessible. Use a metal-sealed screw connection. A leak test and flame test must be performed after installation.

Electrical connection
Electrical installation must be performed by a specialist. The refrigerator has a CI-bus interface for control via a compatible vehicle display. Ensure the positive and negative supply lines for the electronics and heating element are not combined into a single wire to prevent electrical interference.

Technical data
The 10-Series refrigerators operate on 230 V AC and 12 V DC. Gas consumption is 580 g/24 h. The climate class is SN. Refer to the technical data section for specific dimensions and weights for the RMD10.5, RMD10.5S, RMD10.5T, RMD10.5X, RMD10.5XS, and RMD10.5XT models.

Common problems
Turn off the appliance immediately, avoid open flames, and ventilate the room thoroughly. This indicates a leak in the cooling circuit.
Ensure proper ventilation and that the refrigerator is not tilted more than 3 degrees. Check that ventilation grilles are not blocked.
Ensure a minimum clearance of 5 mm from the floor.
Before use
- Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface (max 3-degree tilt).
- Verify that the gas pressure matches the appliance specifications on the type plate.
- Check that all electrical connections are dry and secure.
- Ensure ventilation grilles are not blocked by vehicle parts or accessories.
- Verify that the refrigerator is installed in an airtight manner.
- Perform a leak test and flame test after gas connection.
