Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential operating instructions for the Dremel 12V circular saw. It covers safety, assembly, operation, and maintenance. Always ensure the battery is removed before performing any maintenance or changing accessories to prevent accidental startup.
Device description
The saw features a cutting depth scale, a protective guard, a retracting blade guard, and an integrated laser for precise cutting. It is designed for sawing wood, laminate, plastics, and non-ferrous metals up to 2mm thick.
Assembly and blade change
To change the blade:
- Remove the battery.
- Place the tool on the front of the motor housing.
- Press and hold the spindle lock button (24).
- Use the hex key (28) to loosen the clamping bolt (15).
- Swing the retracting blade guard (14) back and hold it.
- Remove the clamping flange (16) and the saw blade (17).
- Clean the blade and clamping elements.
- Install the new blade, ensuring the teeth direction matches the arrow on the guard.
- Reinstall the flange and tighten the bolt (6-9 Nm).
Operation and settings
Setting cutting depth: Loosen the wing bolt (32), adjust the tool position relative to the base plate (13) using the scale (8), and retighten the bolt.
Adjusting the mitre angle: Loosen the wing bolt (21), tilt the saw to the desired angle on the scale (25), and retighten the bolt.
Laser alignment: Use a workpiece with a straight edge. Insert the battery, retract the blade guard, and position the saw against the edge. Turn on the laser (2). Use the hex key (28) to loosen the screw (22) and a small putty knife in the front slot to rotate the laser (19) until the line is parallel to the edge. Tighten the screw (22).
Maintenance
Keep the tool and ventilation slots clean. Ensure the retracting blade guard moves freely and closes automatically. Clean dust and chips with a brush. Protect non-coated blades with a thin layer of acid-free oil, removing it before use.
Troubleshooting
If the battery does not charge, ensure it is fully inserted, check the charger connection, or clean the contacts. If the red LED indicator is permanently lit, the battery is too hot; let it cool down. If it flashes, the tool is blocked; remove it from the workpiece.
