To ensure optimal performance, install your solar lights in an area that receives direct sunlight. Avoid shaded areas, as this will reduce the operating time. Before first use, ensure the switch located under the solar panel is set to the ON position.
Assembly
- Attach the post to the ground stake: Push the post (B) onto the top of the ground stake (C).
- Install in the ground: Push the assembled post and stake into the ground. If the ground is hard, moisten it with water first. Do not use a hammer to install the stakes.
- Insert the solar light assembly: Place the solar top housing (A) onto the top of the post (B). Do not press down on the solar panel itself to avoid damage.
Operation
The solar lights feature a solar cell that converts sunlight into electricity to recharge the battery daily. The operating time varies based on the specific location, daily weather conditions, and the season.
Maintenance and Battery Replacement
To replace the battery:
- Remove the solar top housing (A) from the post by gently pulling upwards.
- Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the bottom of the solar top housing.
- Remove the battery cover and replace the battery.
- Re-assemble the unit.
Battery Requirements: Use only 14500 3.2V 600mAh Lithium Phosphate (LiFePO4) rechargeable batteries. Do not use alkaline or Ni-Cd batteries.
Care and Cleaning
Clean the solar panel regularly with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or abrasives. Keep the panel free of snow and debris to ensure the battery charges properly.
Troubleshooting
If the lights stop working after a period of time:
- Ensure the battery is adequately charged by placing the unit in direct sunlight for three full days.
- Check if the unit is blocked by trees or other objects that prevent sunlight from reaching the panel.
- Verify that the light level is not too high; the lights are designed to turn on when it is dark outside.
- If the battery is old or no longer holds a charge, replace it with a new 14500 3.2V 600mAh LiFePO4 battery.
