The Eterna BHPIRCS is a 10W LED bulkhead featuring a 120° PIR sensor for automatic lighting. This guide covers essential installation and setup procedures. Important: This product must be installed by a competent person in accordance with current building and IEE wiring regulations. It is double insulated and must not be connected to earth.
Product Description
The unit is designed for permanent connection to fixed wiring and is suitable for outdoor use. It features adjustable PIR settings for time duration and lux levels to suit your environment.

Installation

- Switch off the mains power before commencing installation and remove the appropriate circuit fuse or lock off MCB.
- Remove the trim and diffuser using a screwdriver.
- Position the fitting on the surface where it is to be installed and mark the mounting hole positions.
- Drill and plug the wall at the marked positions and pass the cable wire through the rubber grommet.
- Screw and fix the body to the wall using the screws and silicon washers provided.
- Connect the main power wires to the terminal block (Live: Brown or Red, Neutral: Blue or Black). Ensure terminals are tightened securely onto the bared conductors.
- Set PIR controls to desired Lux and Time settings.
- Refit the diffuser and trim.
- Restore power.
PIR Controls
The PIR sensor has two adjustable controls located on the unit:

- Time Control: Adjusts the duration the light remains on after activation, from (10±5) seconds to (5±1) minutes. Rotating from (+) to (-) reduces the time.
- Lux Control: Adjusts the light level at which the sensor activates. The sun symbol allows operation during day and night, while the moon symbol restricts operation to night only.
Troubleshooting
If the light does not switch on, check all connections and MCB fuses. If the light switches on for no apparent reason, check for interference from other electrical devices on the same circuit or reflections from nearby surfaces. If the light remains on, ensure the time setting is not too long or that there is no continuous false triggering.

Common problems
Check all connections and MCB fuses/switches. Ensure nearby lighting is not too bright and that controls are set correctly.
Check for interference from fans or lights on the same circuit. Avoid aiming the sensor at reflective surfaces like smooth white walls or swimming pools.
Reduce the time setting or check if the sensor is being continuously triggered by movement or heat sources.
The LUX control knob is likely set to the daylight position; turn it towards the night (moon) setting.
Before use
- Ensure mains power is switched off and fuse/MCB is locked.
- Check for hidden pipes or cables before drilling.
- Verify mounting surface is solid (concrete, brick, or joist).
- Ensure at least 0.5m distance from the luminaire to any illuminated surface.
- Confirm the fitting is double insulated (do not connect to earth).
Specs in practice
