The Forney FRONTLINE 1000 comes partially charged. It is recommended to fully charge the unit prior to first use. To charge, connect a USB-C cord to the unit and plug the other end into any powered USB port. For the fastest charging, use a 15W charging block.
Jump Starting Your Vehicle
Smart Jump Start: This mode is for 12-volt lead-acid batteries only. Ensure all vehicle electrical systems (headlights, AC, radio) are turned off before starting.


- Connect the clamp cable to the 12V START OUT port on the jump starter unit.
- Connect the black clamp to the negative (NEG, N, -) battery terminal.
- Connect the red clamp to the positive (POS, P, +) battery terminal.
- Power on the unit by pressing the Power Button.
- The "START" icon will illuminate, and output will begin automatically if connected to a healthy battery.
- Start the vehicle.
- Once started, power off the unit by holding the Power Button for 3 seconds.
Force Jump Start: Use this mode with extreme care. This mode is for 12-volt lead-acid batteries only. It disables spark prevention and reverse polarity protection. Use this only if the battery is below 1V.
- Connect the clamp cable to the 12V START OUT port.
- Connect the red positive clamp to the positive terminal.
- Connect the black negative clamp to the negative terminal.
- Power on the unit.
- Enable Force Jump Start mode by pressing and holding both the Power Button and Flashlight Button for 5 seconds.
- A rapid stair-step flashing of the color light bar and a solid "Start" icon indicates you are in Force Jump Start mode.
- Start the vehicle.
- Power off the unit by holding the Power Button for 3 seconds.
Charging Personal Devices
The unit can function as a power bank for personal devices.
- Power on the unit.
- Plug your device's charging cord into any port marked USB OUT.
- Plug the other end of the charging cord into the device to be charged.
Flashlight Operation
Cycle through flashlight modes using the Flashlight Button. The unit cycles from off through: Solid White, Solid Red, and Flashing Red.
LED Display Status Codes
The LED display provides status and error codes to help troubleshoot the unit:

- E01: Overheat protection. Allow the unit to cool before continuing.
- E02: Low temperature protection. Environment is too cold.
- E03: Incorrect voltage. Ensure the unit is attached to a 12V battery.
- E04: Clamps are reversed. Ensure red is on positive (+), black is on negative (-).
- E05: Smart Jump Start failed. Ensure clamps are not shorted and attempt Force Jump Start.
- E10-E13: Internal faults (Temperature Sensor, Communication, or Switch failure). Power cycle the unit. If the fault persists, contact Forney Industries.

Common problems
Clamps are reversed. Ensure the red clamp is attached to the positive (+) post and the black clamp is attached to the negative (-) post.
Overheat protection is active. Allow the unit to cool down before attempting to use it again.
The connected battery has the incorrect voltage. Ensure the unit is attached to a 12V battery.
Ensure clamps are not shorted. If the battery is below 1V, you may need to use Force Jump Start mode.

- Ensure the unit is fully charged before first use.
- Verify the vehicle battery is a 12V lead-acid type.
- Turn off all vehicle electrical systems (headlights, AC, radio).
