Quick guide from the manual
The Forte MAYA cooker hood is designed for residential kitchen use. It can be installed in either ducted (external evacuation) or non-ducted (recirculating) modes. Proper installation and regular maintenance are essential for safety and performance. Always disconnect the power supply before performing any cleaning or maintenance tasks.
Installation
The hood must be installed inside a wall unit by a qualified technician. Ensure the mounting surface is strong enough to support the unit. The minimum distance between the cooktop surface and the lowest part of the hood must be at least 26 inches (65 cm) for gas hobs.
- Prepare the cabinet by drilling the required housing hole.
- Fix the anchoring brackets to the short sides of the cabinet.
- Remove the hooks, covers, and metal filters.
- Insert the hood into the cabinet from bottom to top until it engages with the brackets.
- Secure the unit using the provided safety screws and internal clips.
- Reinstall the covers, metal filters, and the removable panel.
Operation
The hood features a multispeed blower with four power levels. Use the control panel buttons to adjust settings:
- TL: Turns the light on and off.
- T1: Switches the hood on (first speed) or off. Press twice to turn off from higher speeds.
- T2-T4: Selects the second, third, and fourth blower speeds.
Delayed Auto-Off: While the hood is running, press and hold the TL button until LEDs flash. Then, press T1 (5 min), T2 (10 min), T3 (15 min), or T4 (20 min) to set the timer.
Maintenance
Regular cleaning is required to prevent fire hazards and maintain efficiency:
- Metal Anti-Grease Filters: Clean every 3-4 weeks using hot water and detergent or a dishwasher.
- Long-Life Anti-Odor Filter (Recirculating mode): Regenerate every 3-4 months by washing in a dishwasher at 70°C (no detergent) followed by 30 minutes of oven drying at 70°C. Replace after 6-8 cycles.
- General Cleaning: Clean the exterior monthly with a mild solution of warm water and liquid dish soap. Avoid abrasive sponges or acidic/basic products.

Specs in practice
- Ducted vs. Non-ducted
- Ducted vents air outside; non-ducted (recirculating) filters air and returns it to the kitchen.
- Long-Life Filter
- A specialized odor filter that can be regenerated in a dishwasher rather than replaced frequently.
Model compatibility
- Do not install over stoves with an upper radiating plate.
- Use only metal ductwork for external evacuation.
- Long-Life filters are required for non-ducted/recirculating operation.
