This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your GE Profile washer. Before using the appliance, ensure it is properly installed and grounded. Always keep the area around the washer free of combustible materials. For service or questions, visit ge.com or call 800.GE.CARES.

Control Panel and Settings
The control panel allows you to customize your wash cycle. Key settings include:

- Load Size: Adjust based on the amount of clothes. Ensure clothes are loaded loosely and do not exceed the top row of holes in the basket.
- Temperature: Select wash and rinse temperatures. The PerfecTemp feature senses incoming water temperature to adjust the fill for better detergent dissolution. TAP COLD turns off PerfecTemp to use household tap water temperature.
- Options: Includes Autosoak (brief agitation and soak), 2nd Rinse (deep cold rinse for heavily soiled items), and Extended Spin (extracts more water for faster drying).
- Cycle Selector Knob: Choose the appropriate cycle based on fabric type and soil level, ranging from PREWASH and COTTONS to DELICATES and SPEED WASH.
Washer Features
The washer includes specific features for additives:
- Fabric Softener Dispenser: Located on the agitator. Ensure it is securely attached. Use only liquid fabric softener and fill to the maximum line. Do not stop the washer during the first spin, as this may cause the dispenser to empty prematurely.
- Liquid Bleach Funnel: Dilutes liquid chlorine bleach as the washer fills. Never pour undiluted bleach directly onto clothes. Do not mix chlorine bleach with ammonia or acids.
Loading and Cleaning
Proper loading is crucial for performance:

- Loading: Load items loosely. Do not wrap long items like sheets around the agitator. Agitation will not start if the lid is open.
- Detergent: GE recommends High Efficiency (HE) detergents. Add detergent and start the washer before adding clothes.
- Cleaning: Leave the lid open after washing to allow moisture to evaporate. Clean the basket with a soft cloth and liquid detergent. Clean the fabric softener dispenser by soaking the cup and cover in a solution of warm water, heavy-duty liquid detergent, and bleach.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues, check the following before calling for service:
- Washer won't operate: Check if it is plugged in, the water supply is on, the lid is closed, or if the circuit breaker has tripped.
- Water leaks: Ensure hoses are tight and the drain hose is properly secured. Check for excessive detergent use.
- Noisy operation: Metallic clicking is normal as the shifter engages/disengages. Humming sounds are normal for the drain pump.
Warranty and Support
The product includes a limited warranty covering parts and labor for defects in materials or workmanship. For service, have your model and serial number ready. Contact GE at ge.com or 800.GE.CARES.
