The Hamilton Beach 20L Retro Microwave is designed for domestic use, specifically for defrosting, cooking, and steaming food. Before first use, ensure all packaging is removed, the appliance is placed on a flat, stable surface with proper ventilation, and the glass tray and roller support are correctly installed.
Safety precautions
WARNING: To reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, or injury:
- Do not operate the oven when empty.
- Do not use corrosive chemicals or vapors.
- Do not heat sealed containers as they may explode.
- Do not fry food in the oven; hot oil can cause damage and burns.

Installation
For correct operation, the oven requires sufficient airflow. Maintain the following clearances:
- Above: 20cm
- Back: 10cm
- Sides: 5cm
Ensure the power socket is readily accessible for emergency disconnection. Do not use the oven outdoors.
Control panel and operation
The control panel allows you to set the clock, power levels, and various cooking modes:
- Defrost/Clock: Press once for time-based defrost, twice for weight-based defrost, or use to set the clock.
- Power: Press repeatedly to select power levels (100% to 0%).
- Start/Quick Start: Press to start programs or set express cooking.
- Menu: Select auto-cooking programs.
- Stop/Cancel: Pause or cancel programs; hold for 3 seconds to activate/deactivate Child Lock.
Auto cook menus
The microwave features pre-programmed settings for common foods, including Beverage, Rice, Pasta, Potato, Reheat, Fish, Pizza, and Popcorn. Simply select the menu code and input the weight or servings.
Cleaning and care
- Turn off and unplug the oven before cleaning.
- Clean the interior with a damp cloth; use mild detergent if necessary.
- Do not use abrasive cleaners or steam cleaners.
- The glass tray and roller ring are dishwasher safe.
