Product Overview

The Hansgrohe Metris Classic and Talis Classic are concealed single-function shower mixers designed for bathing and body cleansing. These units feature a thermostatic control for precise temperature management and include a safety function to prevent scalding.

Safety Information

Important: Wear gloves during installation to prevent crushing and cutting injuries. The system must only be used for bathing and hygiene. Individuals with physical, mental, or sensory impairments, or those under the influence of alcohol or drugs, must not use the shower system without supervision. Large pressure differences between hot and cold supplies must be balanced.

Installation and Operation

The fitting must be installed, flushed, and tested according to valid norms. After installation, the output temperature must be checked and adjusted if necessary. The safety function allows for pre-setting a maximum temperature (e.g., 42°C) to prevent accidental scalding.

Maintenance

To ensure smooth operation of the thermostatic unit, turn the handle from total hot to total cold periodically. The mixer is equipped with non-return valves that must be checked regularly according to DIN EN 1717 (at least once a year). Also, check the filters on the MTC-thermoelement (A) during maintenance.

Troubleshooting

• Insufficient water: Check supply pressure, clean filters, or clean the shower filter seal.
• Crossflow: Clean or replace non-return valves.
• Temperature mismatch: Adjust the thermostat or increase hot water temperature to 42°C–65°C.
• Temperature regulation impossible: Clean or replace the temperature regulator; ensure the basic body is connected correctly (cold right, hot left).
• Safety stop button not working: Clean or replace the spring/button.
