Quick guide from the manual
The HiKOKI UB 18DC is a cordless work light designed for site illumination. It is compatible with HiKOKI Multi Volt and BSL18 series batteries. Key features include adjustable brightness (700–4000 lm), USB device charging, and IP65 dust and water resistance.
Device Description
The unit features a battery level indicator, adjustment dial, LED light, and a USB port protected by a rubber cover. It includes a top and bottom handle, a latch for battery access, and a 5/8-UNC screw hole for tripod mounting.
Operation
To operate the light, insert a compatible battery into the unit. Use the switch to turn the light on or off. The brightness can be adjusted using the adjustment dial. The light will blink twice when reaching maximum or minimum brightness. When the battery is low, the light will blink briefly every 3 minutes.
Charging
Charge the battery using a compatible HiKOKI charger. Connect the charger to a power source, insert the battery, and monitor the pilot lamp. A solid red light indicates charging is in progress, while a blinking red light indicates charging is complete. If the lamp blinks at 1-second intervals before charging, it is ready. If it blinks at 1-second intervals during charging, the battery may be overheated.
Maintenance and Inspection
Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure they are tight. Keep the battery terminals free of swarf and dust to prevent short circuits. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth or a cloth moistened with soapy water. Do not use chloric solvents, gasoline, or paint thinner.
Safety
Always use the tool within the temperature range of -5°C to 40°C. Do not look directly into the light. Keep the light at least 20 cm away from illuminated objects. Ensure the work light is stable when placed in high locations and secure it to prevent falling.

Common problems
The battery may be depleted, the tool may be overloaded, or the battery may be overheated. Check the battery charge, release the switch to clear overload, or let the battery cool down.
Check for foreign objects in the charger's battery connector. If none are found, the battery or charger may be malfunctioning; contact an authorized service center.
Ensure the battery has sufficient charge; USB output stops automatically when the battery is low. Remove the USB device if it is not charging to prevent battery drain.
