Quick guide from the manual
This document provides essential information for the safe and efficient operation of the Hilti AG 125-7SE and AG 125-8SE angle grinders. It covers assembly, disc mounting, operation, and maintenance. Always read the full safety instructions provided in the original manual before use.
Device Description
The AG 125-7SE and AG 125-8SE are hand-held electric angle grinders designed for cutting, grinding, and sanding metal and mineral materials without the use of water. They feature adjustable speed preselection (6 levels) and a restart interlock.
Assembly and Setup
- Side handle: Screw the side handle into one of the provided threaded bushings.
- Guard: Open the clamping lever, fit the guard onto the spindle collar, rotate to the required position, and close the lever.
- Front cover: For cutting or grinding with straight discs, snap the front cover onto the standard guard.
Operation
- Switching on: Plug in the tool, press the rear section of the on/off switch, slide it forward, and lock it.
- Cutting: Apply moderate feed pressure and do not tilt the tool. For profiles, start at the smallest cross-section.
- Rough grinding: Move the tool with an angle of 5° to 30° and moderate pressure.
- Switching off: Press the rear section of the on/off switch to release it.
Maintenance and Care
Regularly clean the air vents with a dry brush. Keep the tool, especially the grips, dry, clean, and free of oil and grease. If the tool is used frequently on conductive materials (metal, carbon fiber), maintenance intervals may need to be shortened. Only use original Hilti spare parts and consumables.
Troubleshooting
If the tool does not start, check the power supply, inspect the power cord/plug for damage, or check if the carbon brushes are worn. If the tool is overloaded, release the switch, press it again, and let the tool run at no load for 30 seconds.
