The Hilti DD 110-D is a professional-grade diamond core drilling machine designed for dry drilling in masonry. Before use, ensure you have read and understood all safety warnings. Always use the side handle and hold the tool with both hands. If working in dusty conditions, connect a suitable dust extraction system. Always test the PRCD (residual current device) before starting work.
Product Description
The DD 110-D is an electrically powered tool for hand-held dry drilling with diamond core bits and socket cutters. It is not suitable for drilling in concrete or reinforced concrete. It features an optional TPS theft protection system and an integrated service indicator.
Preparation
Before starting, ensure the side handle is securely attached and positioned correctly. To fit a diamond core bit, open the tool holder by turning it in the direction of the symbol, insert the bit, and close the holder. Always wear protective gloves when changing tools as they can become hot.
Operation
Select the appropriate gear based on the core bit diameter. Use the gear selector switch while turning the core bit by hand to ensure it engages. If using a vacuum cleaner, connect the tool's power cord to the vacuum's power outlet if available. Always route the power cord and vacuum hose behind the tool to prevent tripping.
Care and Maintenance
Always unplug the tool before performing maintenance. Clean the air vents with a dry, soft brush and wipe the housing with a slightly damp cloth. Replace carbon brushes when the service indicator lights up. Repairs to electrical components must only be performed by trained electrical specialists.
Troubleshooting
If the service indicator lights up, the carbon brush wear limit is nearly reached. If the tool does not achieve full performance, check for supply network faults or long extension cords. If the core bit does not rotate, ensure the gear selector is fully engaged or use a wrench to free a jammed bit.
Safety
Always wear personal protective equipment, including eye protection, a hard hat, ear defenders, protective gloves, and a light respiratory mask. Ensure the workplace is well-ventilated. Do not drill into materials that produce conductive dust (e.g., magnesium). Secure the workpiece with clamps or a vice.

Common problems
Service indicator lights up
Carbon brush wear limit is nearly reached. Have them replaced at the next opportunity.
Diamond core bit does not rotate
Gear selector is not engaged. Operate the gear selector until it engages. If jammed, disconnect from power and use an open-end wrench to free the bit.
Drilling speed is decreasing
Core bit is polished; sharpen on a sharpening plate. Check for dust buildup or incorrect gear selection.
